Dr Chris Giacomantonio
Chris is a criminologist and policing and public policy researcher based in Halifax, Canada. He has held several roles where he provided strategic evidence-based research advice to police officers, leaders, and criminal justice policy-makers, including most recently as Research Coordinator at the Halifax Regional Police and co-chair of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police Research Advisory Committee. Prior to his work in Canada, Chris was a Senior Analyst at the RAND Corporation's European offices in Cambridge, UK. In that role, Chris conducted research for governments and agencies including the UK's College of Policing, Association of Chief Police Officers, West Midlands Police, Home Office, Ministry of Justice, Department of Health, and the European Commission. Chris is an adjunct professor at Saint Mary's University and Dalhousie University and holds a doctorate in Criminology from the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford.
