Natalie Hiltz

Deputy Chief Natalie Hiltz is an internationally recognized Canadian Police Executive with 30 years of police leadership, currently serving in Northern Ontario. Natalie has gained extensive operational, investigative and administrative experience in a career marked by a deep commitment to enhanced community safety and well-being through operationalized evidence-based policing strategies. Her expertise in criminal justice, honed through both field and academic experience, positions her at the forefront of innovative police leadership in Canada. 

Following her honours degree in Criminology at Carleton University, Ottawa, Natalie earned an MSt. degree in Applied Criminology and Police Management from the University of Cambridge, as well as a leadership and management certificate from Dalhousie University in Halifax.  Her Cambridge thesis is the basis of her publication entitled ‘Victim Offender Overlap in Violent Crime: Targeting Crime Harm in a Canadian Suburb’ (Cambridge Journal of Evidence-Based Policing 2020, Vol 4, pp 114-124).
